Ladee Hubbard

Ladee Hubbard’s debut novel, The Talented Ribkins, received the 2018 Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence. She is a recipient of a 2016 Rona Jaffe Writers Award and has received additional grants and fellowships from, among others, Sewanee Writers Conference, Art Omi, the Sustainable Arts Foundation, the Sacatar Foundation, and Hedgebrook. Her short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in numerous literary journals including Transition, Virginia Quarterly Review, Guernica, and Callaloo. She earned a BA from Princeton University, an MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and a PhD from the University of California at Los Angeles.
