2025 Virtual Writers Weekend Workshops
Fall 2025 (November 15-16)
Hurston/Wright’s Virtual Writers Weekend is a fast-paced intensive workshop period that focuses on one element of craft facilitated by an award-winning professional writer in the genre they are teaching. Participants are welcomed virtually by Hurston/Wright, where they meet their instructor and workshop participants.
This year’s award-winning instructors are:
- Non-fiction Instructor: Tieshka Smith
- Fiction Instructor: Keith F. Miller Jr.
Application Deadline:
November 12th, 11:59pm ET or once the 10-person cap per workshop is met.
Fees:
- The fee is $200, which covers the virtual weekend.
- No separate application fee
- Non-refundable
- Full payment is due by the first day of the workshop
Workshop Schedule:
- Saturday & Sunday: Time will be coordinated with the instructor.
Submission Format:
Please ensure that your submission aligns with the genre to which you are applying.
Nonfiction: 10 page maximum, using Times New Roman, 12-point type, double-spaced with 1-inch margins.
All applicants Provide a title page with the author’s name and contact information.
- Include a cover letter with information about your writing life and citations of any published work.
- Previous attendees are eligible to apply.
