Welcome to the inaugural issue of ZR the on-line digital literary journal of the Zora Neale Hurston/Richard Wright Foundation. In this first issue we are featuring the work of the enormously talented winners of the 2014 and 2015 Hurston/Wright Founding Members Award for College Writers. The College Writers Award was the very first program we offered, and we are proud that past winners include novelists Tayari jones, Ravi Howard and Mitchell Jackson. We are also proud to unveil a journal that offers a supportive space for the best emerging writers in our community to reach a wider audience.
