Naomi Jackson

Naomi Jackson was born in raised in Brooklyn by West Indian parents. She earned a BA from Williams College, an MA in creative writing from the University of Cape Town while on a Fulbright scholarship to South Africa, and an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. The Star Side of Bird Hill was nominated for an NAACP Image Award and long-listed for the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Prize and the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize.
